Is a sympathomimetic that both alpha- and beta-adrenergic receptors
What does adrenaline do?
Enhances myocardial and cerebral blood flow during CPR and CPR becomes more effective due to increased peripheral resistance which improves perfusion pressures
What two cautions should be taken when administering adrenaline 1mg/1ml?
Severe hypertension in patients on non-cardioselective beta-blockers like Propranolol
If patient’s core temp is less than 30 degrees Celsius - when temp rises between 30 and 35, double the time period between doses
When should adrenaline 1mg/1ml be administered with shockable rhythms?
After the 3rd shock and then after alternative shocks (i.e. 5th, 7th etc)
When would adrenaline 1mg/10ml be administered for non-shockable rhythms?
Immediately after IV access is gained
Over how long should adrenaline 1mg in 10ml be administered?
3-5 mins
What is the max dose?
No limit
