An important status change following the onset of puberty during which a young person develops from a child into a adult
Puberty
A period of rapid growth during which young people reach sexual maturity, and become biologically able to reproduce and secondary sexual characteristics develop
Hormones
Chemical substances produced in the body and transported in the blood stream that control or regulate body cells or body organs.

- Pubic hair grows
- Period start (menstruation)

what is the hormone produced by males?
Testosterone - produced by the testes that controls the development of male sexual characteristics
what are the hormones produced by a female?
Oestrogen - produced in the woman’s ovaries that control the development of sexual characteristics and stimulate changes in the reproductive organs.
Progesterone - produced in the ovaries and is responsible for the changes including ovulation and menstruation.
