CNS stimulants
- methylphenidate (first line)
- dextroamphetamine
Noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor
- atomoxetine

How is methylphenidate prescribed?

A

There is usually an immediate release (4hrs) and a sustained release (12 hours) in one tablet
Supresses appetite and therefore growth so need drug holidays e.g. at weekends when they don’t need to be at school
