What is Addison’s?
A
Adrenal glands don’t produce enough steroid hormones. Circulating blood volume and blood pressure. May lead to Addisonian crisis.

What is the relevance of being on long term steroid therapy to dental practice?
A
They will be unable to mount a sufficient stress response so may need extra cover for dental procedures. Do not stop steroids suddenly. There may be pigmentation of the buccal mucosa and the gingivae
