An adaptive feature is an inherited feature that helps an organism survive and reproduce in an environment.

What’s a hydro and a xerophyte?
A
They are plants adapted to living sumerged and in dry environments respectively

What are the up and downsides of hydrophytes?
A
There’s no need for water transport, roots and cuticle. However, CO2 which is needed diffuses much more slowly through water than through air.
