What is Hematochezia ?
Passage of bright red stool in the blood
What are the requirements for diarrhea?
Passage of loose stool with increased frequency and increased stool output
What is the requirements for constipation?
Decrease in stool frequency and Rome III criteria
Hows is upper and lower GI bleeding differentiated?
Ligament of treitz which marks the duodenum and jejunum demarcation and other factors as well
What are presentation of acute, mild lower GI bleed?
no change in hemoglobin and stable vitals
What are causes of mild LGIB?
Hemorrhoids, anal fissure, angiodysplasia, and infection
What is the presentation of moderate to severe LGIB?
at least 2 gram drop of hemoglobin, potential drop in BP and tachycardia
