Why did the apostles choose 7 to assist them?
the Hellenistic Jews among them complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food. The 12 gathered with the disciples and agreed and asked the believers to choose 7 men full of the spirit and wisdom
Who were the 7 men?
Stephen, Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas
Why was Stephen tried?
Opposition arose from members of the Synagogue of the Freedmen, Jews of Cyrene and Alexandria as well as the provinces of Cilicia and Asia
They testified against him and produced false witnesses saying he was teaching blasphemy
but the people sitting in the Sanhedrin looked at Stephen and saw that he had the face of an angel
