To whom was Acts written and what was first said?
To Theophilus, and the writer reminded him that he had earlier written about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven and that Jesus had given instructions to the apostles he had chosen through the Holy Spirit.
After Jesus return following his crucifixion, what were the first few things he did?
He presented proof to his disciples that he was who he said he was. These proofs are not listed, but he was there in person. He stayed with them for 40 days and taught them about the Kingdom of God.
What was the first order Jesus gave his disciples after his return?
Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait to be baptized by the Holy Spirit.
After Jesus had talked to them for awhile, what was the first thing the disciples asked him?
“Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”
What did Jesus answer when he was asked if he was going to restore the kingdom to Israel?
He said it was not for them to know and only God knows, but they would receive power from the Holy Spirit would be his witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

After he told them their mission, he was taken up into Heaven before their eyes.

They told them that Jesus would come back in the same way they saw him go to heaven.

Where did the disciples go when they returned to Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives and seeing Jesus go into Heaven?
They went to an upstairs room where they were staying.
Who were the people staying in the upstairs room?
Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. In addition to these, there were also “the women,” including Mary the mother of Jesus and Jesus’ brothers.

When Peter stood to address the believers, what did he say?
He told about Judas’ betrayal and said that it was necessary to pick someone to replace him. He also said that the Holy Spirit had foretold Judas’ betrayal through David in the Psalms.
What two men were nominated to replace Judas, and whom did they choose?
Barsabbas (also known as Justus) and Matthias. They cast lots and asked God to let the right person win, and Matthias was selected.
