Active Barrier System Flashcards
When are barrier test conducted?
barrier testing every Sunday between 0100-0400 hours.
Who will supervise pre-planned barrier testing?
barrier testing will be directly supervised by a certified Flight Chief, certified shift supervisor, DAF Police Officer/Security Guard, or Commander’s designated representative.
What must happen or be done before pre-planned barrier testing?
SF members will physically move through
travel lanes to verify all vehicles are clear and report this to the on duty Flight Chief when
action is complete.
Prior to barrier activation ____ must be verified via radio?
Prior to activation, post an SF at each set of barriers, but maintain clear observation of pop-up barriers to visually assess barrier deployment. Verify via radio that all traffic is clear prior to activation.
What must happen after testing?
Flight Chief, DAF Shift Supervisor or Commander’s designated representative will visually verify that all barriers have fully retracted to the down position, and verify that all lanes of traffic are clear and free of obstruction prior to allowing traffic through the IECP. Additionally, ensure barrier test is annotated in the SF blotter.
What must happen in case of barrier test failure?
a pop-up barrier does not deploy properly during testing, notify S3O. In addition, notify CE job control to open an emergency work order. The affected IECP will not be utilized until the barrier system is either disabled in the retracted position or is operational.
What must be done during periodic safety loop testing?
Coordinate with CE to test and verify the safety loop for the barrier system that is installed is active and in good working order. If the IECP has a traffic light system or a similar warning system incorporated as part of the barrier system, have CE inspect this as well to ensure it is operational and functioning properly. Coordinate with CE to determine the appropriate interval to accomplish this action.
