What are the long term aims?
- Increase explosive strength
- Improve the distance and strength a ball can be thrown and hit with
What are the short term aims?
- Improve maximal strength
- Convert maximal to explosive
- Apply new explosive strength to sport
What do the SMART features stand for?
Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Recorded, Time phased
What is the S in this target?
Specific- Improve the batsmen ability to strike and throw a ball harder through the use of explosive strength training
What is the M in this target?
Measurable- measure the height gained on a full body projection to detect explosive strength. Measure the average distance a ball is hit prior to and after training.
What is the A in this target?
Achievable- find a 15% increase in the distance a ball is hit by a batsmen and the distance it can be thrown.
What is the R in this target?
Record- the height off full body projection the distance a ball is thrown or hit.
What is the T in this target?
Time phased is within the 12 week training programme split into 3 month long micro cycles
