Romeo risks his life to see Juliet by climbing into the Capulet orchard. He sees Juliet at the window. He overhears her expressing her feelings about him. Juliet is concerned that Romeo’s life will be in danger if her family find him there. Romeo declares his love for Juliet and she tells them to arrange for their marriage to prove he means it.

Romeo visits Friar Lawrence and asks him to marry him and Juliet. The Friar is concerned at the speed of the wedding but thinks it may help to heal the feud between the two families.

Tybalt has issued a challenge to Romeo; he is still angry that he wasn’t allowed to defend the Capulet honour at the party. Romeo is on his way home when Juliet’s nurse meets him; Juliet is waiting for news. The Nurse is also looking for reassurance that Romeo does love Juliet. Romeo tells the Nurse to ensure that Juliet can go to Friar Lawrence’s cell later that day to be married.

Juliet is impatient, waiting for the Nurse to bring news. When the Nurse returns, she tells Juliet that Romeo has kept his promise and that they will be married that afternoon.

Romeo and the Friar wait for Juliet to arrive and the Friar takes them off to be married.
