How do you identify the type of cardiac ischaemia
The drs stable angina/acs
Trigger (known trigger/unclear trigger8
History (known angina/no previous chest pain)
Episodes (no increased frequency/increased frequency)
Duration (resolved in less than 15m/continue for more than 15m)
Resolution (resolves with rest or 4gtn/little response to 4gtn)
Severely (like normal angina/worse than normal)
What are the signs of acs
Chest pain, radiation, shortness of breath, nausea, fatigue, abdominal pain
What are the types of acs?
Stable angina
Acute coronary syndrome
How do you treat Angina
2 GTN
If 4 GTN and slow response treat for ACS
How do you treat ACS
2 GTN every 5 min (max 6)
300mg aspirin
Call 999
What oxygen would be used in ACS if indicated
5-10l simple face mask
When should GTN not be used
Allergy
Hypotension
With mitral stenosis
Pregnant
Obstructive cardiomyopathy
Incipient glaucoma
