Acids, Bases And Alkalis Flashcards
1
Q
What is an acid?
A
An acid is a solution that gives off hydrogen atoms (H+) when dissolved in water and may be corrosive.
2
Q
What happens to acids in water?
A
They split into their ions (hydrochloric acid splits into hydrogen and chlorine ions)
