Analysis
The process of gathering all the info required to continue with scientific method; during this process the unknown items within the video/image are examined carefully first to observe characteristics and/or prior to examining known items
Comparison
The process of looking at two items and testing, analyzing, and examining in order to see what’s different or similar between items being compared
During comparison the characteristics of the unknown items are compared to those of the known items. Any differences or similarities are noted
Evaluation
The process of determining the significance of the info disclosed during the comparison process
Verification
Or peer review
The process wherein another qualified examiner makes an independent evaluation of the original analyst’s methodology and draws their own opinion based on their notes, report, and findings
Report writing
Technical: done by someone with specialized practical knowledge. The conclusion requires no opinions or special scientific knowledge
Analytical: done by an analyst, who is skilled in the thinking/reasoning behind the science and can provide a study of the subject matter
