What is an account statement?
An account statement is a document issued by a financial institution that lists transactions for an account over a given period.
Describe account statement document type?
As banks move towards digital banking, the account statements document is changing from print to a digital document type (PDF) and to structured document types that allow importing into accounting software. Typical structured document types include CSV, excel, and XML.
How do account statements work at Backbase?
Account Statements in Backbase Platform always works in conjunction with the core banking system. Account Statements assumes there is a fixed list of documents available to download for a specific account.
Describe the functionality of account statements.
The Account Statements capability provides functionality to show a paginated, filterable list of account statement documents, and the ability to download a specific document.
Optionally, Account Statements supports categories based on the account type if the core banking system provides this information.
When listing statements, Account Statements checks if the user has access to the selected account within the service agreement they are currently using.
This functionality allows the user to do the following:
View a paginated list of available account statements for the selected account.
Sort the list of account statements.
Filter the list on the following fields:
Date range
Category
Download an account statement.
