What is meant by private funding?
A
- Paying for a solicitor and/or barrister
- Private legal insurance
- Conditional fee agreement: No cost if lost but double rates if win.

What public funding is available?
A
Civil Legal Aid is only available for certain specific cases such as child rights etc
Eligibility for funding is decided through the means test. Considers disposable income and capital.
Merits test, prospects of the case succeeding will be considered too.
