Why did koch’s invention of the steam steriliser prove so important
He worked out that steam killed germs like carbolic acid, but it did not damage the surgeon’s skin like carbolic acid did

What is aseptic surgery
Instead of killing germs on and around the wound, germs are removed from the whole operating theatre
Why was the 1875 public health act more significant than the 1848 public health act
Some measures were made compulsory - for the first time, local authorities were actually forced to act. The 1875 act was also significantly more comprehensive than the 1848 act. In the years 1875-1905, the impact of this act on improvement could very much be felt

It was much stronger than x-rays so it was used to destroy or reduce cancerous tumors. However marie curie did eventually die due to this, because she did not know the dangers of being exposed to radiation
