Q
Plagiarism
A
- “… the act of representing work/ideas as one’s own w/o appropriate acknowledgement/referencing.”

2
Q
Referencing
A
- we must acknowledge others:
- WORDS; everything written is assumed as yours unless it quotes
- IDEAS; assumed drawing from others’ concepts
- OWN WORK; don’t reuse words
3
Q
Types of Plagiarism
A
- DIRECT COPYING; from book/article/peer’s essay/webpage w/o acknowledgement
- CLAIMING IDEAS; incorporation w/ acknowledgement
- OVER-DEPENDANCE; extracting large work sections and sticking them together w/loose sentences
- RE-SUBMISSION; using someone else’s/your own essay structure twice
- COLLUSION; unintentional drawing of ideas via peer review; ALL involved parties summoned to discussion
