what does the police do?
A
- work with courts to ensure defendants are brought before them
- give evidence in court
- work with CPS to charge and prosecute offenders

A
- advise police on charging suspect
- appear in court to conduct the advocacy of a case
- work with police to check evidence and ensure there’s enough

what does the ministry of justice do?
A
- over see the work of the: courts, probation services, prison systems
- deal with legislations and guidelines for working in different organisations of CJS

what does the probation service do?
A
- liaise with police if there’s issues while a person is on probation
- work with charities to help prisoners leave prison and support them
- arrest prisoner recalled to prison while on probation

what do the courts do?
A
- contribute to law creation by judicial precedent and statutory interpretation
- arrange video links if prisoner cannot attend court
- liaise with police and prisons to ensure delivery of prisoners to court

what do prison services do?
A
- work with probation services when a prisoner is to be released
- judge and court decide prison term for offenders
- defendants denied bail by court and police are remanded in prison
