Q

What does the retrieval failure due to the absence of cues theory suggest about forgetting?

A

-A cue is a trigger that allows us to access and recall information. When the use is present during the time of learning and storing the information it also must be present during the time of recall.

Wo types of forgetting occurs according to this theory:

  • Context dependant failure
  • State dependant failure

AO3 for absence of retrieval cues

A
  • Abernathy/Classroom and teacher, context dependant failure
