Who was Abraham
A rich man who is the founder of Judaism. He lived 4000 years ago in a town called Ur with his wife Sarah in what is now the Near East
Why did Abraham leave Ur
He disagreed with the rituals people performed such as sacrifice to the gods
He was a monotheist- believing in one true god and that god told him to leave
Describe the covenant that god formed with Abraham
God promised Abraham would:
Become the father of a great nation
Have a big family and his children would have a great connection with God
He would have a promised land in the form of Canaan
After Abraham left Ur where did he settle in
Haran for 5 years
Why had the covenant not been fulfilled yet when arriving in Canaan
They still had no son
Sarah believed she couldn’t carry Abraham’s child because of her age. What did she suggest he did? Did it work?
