About the Pageant and Miss USA Flashcards
Should Titleholder be allowed to drink alcohol in public during their reign?
One of their purposes is to be a role models. I believe they should be allowed to because this gives them an opportunity to show others what responsible alcohol consumption is.
What area of competition did you work the most on?
If you were a pageant judge, How would you choose the next title holder to crown?
What is the one thing that helps you get ready for your pageant or appearnces
Why have you chosen to compete in this pageant system versus others?
Because Miss USA is not about finding the perfect 10 that can walk the runway perfectly, it is about finding real women to be role models to others. To find confident smart women to speak their minds.
If you could add a phase of competition to the pageant what would you add?
What is your favorite thing about Maryland?
Old bay, how is it that no one outside of Maryland knows what this is and yet, I don’t think I could live without it now
Who is your role model in pageantry
Elle Smith, she had never competed in a pageant before, stood tall and was confident just being herself. I know she inspired more than just me, as a first-time contestant.
If you were a judge what question would you ask and then answer it
I would ask, what was going through your mind when you decided to apply. I would tell you that it was the kids I mentor. I want to show them that they can put themselves out there and reach for hard goals.
How would you balance the title with your other obligations.
The key there is self-care. You cannot pour from an empty cup. To be the most productive self you have to know when and how to give yourself a break.
How would you relate to the everyday girl with this title?
Many Americans believe beauty pageants degrade women, what would you say to them?
That they have the wrong idea about them. Pageants are a way to give women, in a male dominate world, a platform to speak their minds. It is a place where a women’s confidence in herself is celebrated. What makes a woman beautiful is her confidence and resilience, not her outside appearance.
