1
Q
What is the difference between a goal and a task?
A
Goal: expectation of End condition
Task: intermediate step towards reaching goal
2
Q
Problem with designing only for tasks / func. Req.
A
Does not tell you why or end goal user is trying to achieve
(Ex. Completing a form is a task but no user has the goal of putting text inside a box. What is their goal and expected result? Is the form even necessary?)
3
Q
Output of research?
A
Set of Behavior patterns. (Modes of use and goals/motivations)
4
Q
Design steps described in book
A
- Research
- Modeling (analysis & personas)
- requirements definition (user & business)
- framework design (guidng design principles & patterns )
- design refinement
- design supportb
5
Q
Limitations of qualitative research
A
- Only tells you what not why
- numbers/stats can just as easily be biased as qualitative interpretation.
- often reduces scope & variables to isolate effects. This might overlook important nuances.
