What’s the tuition fee?
It is 1600 dollars per credit. So, for a 9-credit hour semester, the tuition fee is about 16,000 dollars, including about 1,500 dollars worth of insurance. For a 12-credit hour semester, the tuition fee is about 21,000 dollars.
Types of aid at ASU?
Firstly, Assistantships include teaching assistantships in which responsibility is in an instructional capacity, and research assistantships are research-related. Secondly, fellowships/scholarships and grants. Thirdly, student loans. And lastly, temporary or part-time student employment.

3. Data Visualization by Dr. Chris Bryan
What is Data Mining?
Data Mining is searching and analyzing a large batch of raw data to identify patterns and extract useful information.
Companies use data mining software (Apache Mahout, Oracle Data Mining, TeraData) to learn more about their customers. It can help them to develop more effective marketing strategies, increase sales, and decrease costs.
This course will introduce fundamental concepts and techniques in data mining
including classification, clustering, dimensionality reduction, and outlier detection.
1 Final Project 40%
Pre-req: Basic probability theory, linear algebra, Python.
What is Artificial Intelligence?
Tech that enables computers and machines to simulate human intelligence and problem-solving skills.
Examples: Self-driving cars, Smart Assistants, ChatGPT
The course covers introductory and advanced topics of AI like Markov decision processes, reinforcement learning, and statistical learning.
3 Projects.

What is Data Visualization?
Data Visualization is the graphical representation of data, using charts, graphs, etc. You make boring data easier to understand and fun to look at.
In this course, we’ll develop EDA and viz tools using Python, create visualizations on Tableau, and more.
1 individual project.
Pre-req: Basic statistics, DMS, Python.

About Tempe
Tempe is a beautiful city next to the major city Phoenix. Arizona State University gives northern Tempe a college town vibe whereas the southern part of Tempe is mostly residential. From hiking trails at A Mountain to kayaking at Tempe Town Lake, I’m sure it’ll be a wonderful experience.

Arizona state is located south western part of the US. Mostly sunny and low humidity year round. Most of its land area is reserved for beautiful national parks like the Grand Canyon and other preserved lands. Capital Phoenix is one of the largest cities in the US.
