- Bible teaches “thou shall not commit murder” - interpretations: absolute + deontological command
- “do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price” - your life is something special, it’s a gift. You do not decide what you do with it.
- Roman Catholics = absolutists + pro-life supporters
