How does the environment impact Aboriginal Health?
No regulations on air and water quality, can effect health, eating animals hunted on the reserve, often need to get there by air or water isolated from health care
How does Income effect aboriginal health?
Large income gap between aboriginals and Canadians, over 50% get income from employment and the other 50% from government services such as EI, Child Tax Benefit, or Social Insurance, above average preciously housed/homeless population, high prices of food on the reserve
How does Housing effect aboriginal health?
Over crowded, huge proportion need repairs, huge proportion will go without necessities to pay for shelter
How does education effect aboriginal health?
HUGE proportion without high school education, females are more educated
What are some trends in aboriginal health?
higher rates of obesity, smoking, hypertension, hep. c., mental health issues, diabetes, and arthritis, women more likely to suffer from multiple chronic diseases,
