There will be no sympathetic aborts after brake release, unless a hazard to both aircraft exists. If both aircraft abort the first aircraft to reach 2,000’ runway remaining distance sign “owns” the barrier.

As a guide, use 100 KCAS as a decision speed behind an aborting aircraft. Above 100 KCAS continue the takeoff, below 100 KCAS abort the takeoff

For an element abort in 4 ship formation transmit “C/S element, abort abort abort”. Rear elements use 100 KCAS as a decision speed behind an aborting element

Standard for an electrical fire in formation?

Inform the other pilot of electrical fire at first indication, if possible. As soon as all electrical equipment is switched off, exchange a thumbs up. Restore electrical power with the battery first.

The pilot not experiencing symptoms flies and lands from a straight-in approach at the nearest suitable airfield with an available flight surgeon/medical services. In formation, the problem aircraft usually leads back

What is the general procedure for a Radio Failure/Blind Rejoin?

Unless otherwise briefed, the rejoin point will be the EGI center point of the area, or the briefed visual ground reference point, squawk 7600. To facilitate the rejoin, orbit at the appropriate rejoin point at 45 degrees of bank and 300 KCAS at the assigned altitude. The NORDO aircraft (if unable to rejoin) will leave no later than JOKER fuel and the other aircraft at BINGO fuel. RTB single ship using the appropriate single ship radio failure procedures.

If you are leading an emergency approach and your wingman is NORDO, what should you do on final?

Answer 7

Give a separate signal gear and flap signal. Allow the NORDO aircraft to refuse the flap signal if needed. If they do, fly a no flap final.
