- Soft tissue edema, Synovitis

- Increase muscle tone
- Capsular, muscular, ligamentous, fascial shortening

- Occurs sooner or later in the ROM than is usual OR ina joint that is normally SOFT/FIRM end feel.
- Bony grating/Bony block
- Chondromalacia, OA, Loos bodies, Myositis Ossificans, Fracture

A
- No real end feel b/c pain prevents reaching end of ROM. -No resistance is felt except for patient’s protective muscle splinting/spasm
- Acute joint inflammation, bursitis, abscess, fracture, psychogenic
