What are practical criticisms of evidence-based practice movement?
Difficult to maintain reviews across specialities/ hard to implement findings.
Limited trial opportunity due to choice of outcomes being biomedical
Good faith required on pharma companies
What are philosophical criticisms of evidence-based practise?
Doesn’t align with Dr way of thinking
Population outcomes not individual outcomes
Creates ‘unreflective rule followers’
Responsibility and autonomy
Undermine trust in doctor-patient relationship.
