Transverse fascia

- Covers inner surface of abdomen and inferior surface of diaphragm
- In area of the inguinal canal transforms into funiculus spermaticus as fascia spermatica externa et interna
- In regio umbilicalis reinforced as fascia umbilicalis
- Reinforcement of the trasnverse fascia is found between fossa inguinalis medialis et lateralis as ligamentum interfoveolare

Q
Subcutaneous abdominal fascia
A
- Inserts into subcutaneous layer and splits into two layers:
- Stronger superficial layer
- Weaker deeper layer
- Cranially reaches up to umbilical level and then diminishes
- Caudally passesover inguinal ligament and grows together with fascia lata femoris and proceeds to the scrotum/labia majora pudendis as it passes into the dartos tunic
- In the perineum it passes into superficial perineal fascia
