symptoms (MC) of abdominal aneurysm
nothing!
next mc would be abdominal pain, low back pain
most ppl with abdom aneurysm would be
older white males, so a guy that is common to have LBP anyway
risks
hyperlipidemia, hypertension, cigarette smoking—huge
look for testing these things
upper vs lower pulse, BP.
claudication of lower extremities
skin atrophy, hair on the toes, pallor, not edema
order of abdomen exam
inspection, auscultation, percussion, palpation. palpation after sound. duh.
inflammatory bowel disease

more common in develpoed areas
prevalence 70/100,000
20-40 or 60-80 yrs ( bimodal)
more common in women—caucasians, jews

etiology is unknown, but maybe triggered,
infxn, psychosocial, blah blah we dont know
UC
the diseas that usually begins in the rectum, progresses proximally
occasionally, the distal terminal ileum is involved (backwash ileitis)
UC
diffuse inflammation
goblet cells lose their mucus

biopsies of long standing UC show dysplasia…
onset is gradual (good periods and bad periods)
