Q

Can you pair multiple AB myPilots with one processor?

(For example, in the case that the user has a spare AB myPilot.)

A

Yes!

You can pair multiple AB myPilots with a single Naída CI. There is no limit.

  • Remember, however, that you can only pair two Naída CIs with one AB myPilot at the same time. They must have the same pairing ID, so both Naída CIs must belong to the same recipient.
  • To pair with other recipients, you must clear pairing and re-pair the AB myPilot.

Q

Does AB myPilot require charging before it is configured within the SoundWaveTM 2.2 software?

A

If the battery is too low, configuring is not possible, and AB myPilot will not appear in the ribbon bar in SoundWaveTM 2.2.

AB myPilot should ship with enough charge; however, it is possible that it may have too little charge to configure. If this is the case, AB myPilot will display that it needs to be charged.

It can charge from the USB to computer, but will charge faster if connected to the mains wall outlet. For this reason, we recommend charging from the mains wall outlet before use (at least at the start of the programming session).

Q

If you bilaterally initialize your Naida CI, what programs will AB myPilot show . . . . .

  • Programs for the left CI?
  • Programs for the right CI?
  • Pr programs for both CIs?
A

When performing a status read-out, AB myPilot will display information for the side to which the headpiece is connected.

  • If the processor is connected to the left implant, AB myPilot will show the left programs.
  • If the processor is connected to the right implant, AB myPilot will show the right programs.
  • If the processor is not connected to an implant, AB myPilot will default to show left programs.

**If the AB myPilot is paired to both the left and right processors, the same pairing ID is shown for both in the AB myPilot.

Q

If you change the program on AB myPilot, the change is seen on the processor (flashing LEDs to show program change).

However, if you change the program on the processor, the change is not reflected on AB myPilot. Why?

A

The Naída CI needs to communicate with the AB myPilot.

To do this, you need to perform a full-sync with the AB myPilot by quickly pressing the on/off button on the AB myPilot. Then, you will see the change.

Q

The listening check is connected to the Naida CI processor, but the AB myPilot isn’t in listening check mode. Why?

A

AB myPilot must communicate with Naída CI to recognize that the listening check is connected. The simplest way is to do a full sync by quickly pressing the on/off button on the side of AB myPilot.
