aaaaaaaaaaaaaa Flashcards
What does laser printer do
Uses a static electric charge on a rotating drum (positive charge)
- remove positive charge in certain areas (match exactly the text/image)
- when the negatively charged paper rolled over the printing drum which is coated by positive charge toner
-> generates a physical output
what does LCD projector do
uses a high intensity beam of light shone through 3 layers of changing pixels
what does DLP projector do
uses millions of micro mirrors to reflect light that passes through a colour then passes through a lens -> shone picture on the wall
what does inkjet printer do
- use piezoelectric technology -> produce a hard copy
- use hundreds of tiny guns to propel ink
- droplet comes out from the dispenser onto the paper
what does 3D printer do
uses plastic, resin or powdered metal -> laser fuses it together and set out, layer by layer
what does 2D cutter do
uses a high power laser to cut x y plane (3d cutter - xyz plane)
How many display are there
4 displays
- DLP & LCD projector
- LCD & LED screen
Benefit of OLEd display
- No backlight needed
- Lower power consumption
- Low running cost
- Greater field of view
- Thin and light
Benefits of LCD display
- Cheap to manufacture
- Bright light
- Low heat production
- Energy saver
- Last longer
Disadvantage of OLED display
- Higher production cost
- More vulnerable to water and contaminants
- Less life span than LCD
Disadvantage of LCD display
- Limited viewing angle
- Uneven light intensity
- Pixels might malfunction
