If the equation of a circle has this layout, the centre of the circle is (0,0).

How can you solve two simultaneous equations representing a line and a circles intersecting point?
A
Graphically.
- graph usually drawn for you, just need to guess x and y points
- when asked to solve algebraically, substitute equation of line into equation of circle, make equation equal to 0 and use quadratic formula

A
A ‘u-shaped’ curve, called a parabola.

An ‘s-shaped’ curve.

x and y axes are asymptotes, graphs never touch them but keep getting closer, called a hyperbola.

Only x axis is an asymptote, curved line away from x axis.
