What happens on an airbus to the door if the cabin pressurisation system is not working? When would it happen?
A red cabin pressure light flashes.
It will only illuminate when a door is set to disarmed and engines are off and when cabin pressurisation is incomplete.
When the cabin pressurisation light flashes who should be notified immediately?
The captain
What buttons should be pressed on both the mainline and leisure to call the captain in an emergency?
PRIO/CAPT/SEND
If the cabin pressurisation light is flashing should you open the door? What would happen if you did?
NO- it could open violently.
What should be done when cross checking?
You arm your door then cross to check the opposite door visually and verbally with the crew member who is responsible for it. If it hasn’t been armed, arm it and notify the crew member.
What is an additional check cabin crew must take when they are closing a door?
The barrier strap is stowed away.
If you cannot arm a door who should you tell?
The FSM- never force the door to go to armed
If a door is out of use on an airbus can the aircraft still fly?
Yes, provided the Minimum Equipment List (MEL) is checked on the flight deck to determine the maximum passenger load for each exit/zone and all other doors are serviceable in every respect.
If a door is stuck in armed what placards must be fitted internally and externally?
Internally: EMERGENCY EXIT ONLY
Externally: DO NOT OPEN
If the door is unserviceable what placards should be fitted internally and externally?
Internally: NO EXIT
Externally: DOOR NOT IN USE DO NOT OPEN
If a door is unserviceable what should be done with it?
Every effort to make it look nothing like a door should be made
Will a cabin crew member sit at an unserviceable exit? Why?
Yes- in the event of an emergency they would be required to tell passengers where to go.

Under L1 inboard crew seat.

What should be checked when opening an armed door in an emergency?
- Outside conditions
- The attitude
- Ensure the location allows customers to exit aircraft safely.

What should you check before leaving the cockpit?
- The spyhole and the monitor screen to check no unauthorised people are immediately outside the door.
- If passengers are outside the door flight crew should make a call to Galley 1 for cabin crew to move them
- Once the door is opened and you are out close it immediately but quietly.
If the CDSS is not working how should we access the flight deck?
- Interphone call made to flight crew requesting access to flight deck via keypad
- A crew member in galley one at all times to monitor the flight deck door
If there is only 2 pilots what will happen?
A CCM will sit in the flight deck to verify any request for access:
1. From pushback until TOC
2. From TOD to parking at gate
3. If one flight crew member needs to leave the flight deck

How do you manually open a decompression and evacuation panel?
- Rotate shield to the left to reveal handle
- Pinch, push and rotate the handle until the green locking indicator turns red.
- Kick the hatch into the cabin
- Exit through hatch
How do you open the flight deck escape hatch?
- Insert hand into recess
- Grab release handle
- Pull down the handle
- Move the hatch handle to the open position until locking indicator turns to red position
- Pull hatch inward and down
- A damper slows down the hatch opening
- A knotted rope is stowed next to hatch to evacuate aircraft
- Evacuation possible on both sides of aircraft

What is a SMOKE LAV warning?
A warning if smoke is detected in crew rest areas or toilets
How do you silence warnings on the AIP and ACP?
The SMOKE LAV/RESET button on the FAP or AAP. (smoke lav/reset button may remain until smoke is no longer detected)
What does the AIP do?
Displays passenger calls, smoke in toilet or crew rest area detection, and toilet rinse valve failures.
What will the AIP do if the captain presses the EMER button?
Flash red
How will the AIP display a passenger call?
Call from [seat row] [number] [left/right]
Where are the ACPs located?
In the ceiling at each main door station and in the aft galley.
If there is a crew interphone call what will illuminate on the AIP?
Red (steady or flashing)

How hot does the bin have to be to melt the wax on the TAFE?
Between 66 and 79 degrees
If the guage is red on a TAFE what does this indicate?
It has been discharged during the flight
On all aibuses what does cabin altitude without pressurisation reach to automatically drop oxygen masks?
14,000ft
If the TEST PORT is open what will happen?
Oxygen masks will not drop- FSM needs to notify engineers.
What happens when oxygen masks drop on an A350 which is different?
2 masks will drop initially, once they have been grabbed the foil is torn and additional masks will drop
On the A350 how can we manually release oxygen masks?
Pushing the pin of the MRT into the hole in the PSU
What is the duration of oxygen?
22 minutes
