A320 Standard Callouts Flashcards
Runway Verification
Prior to crossing the hold-short line
PM & PF: “Runway ____ verified”
Takeoff
- Thrust levers at takeoff setting
PF: “Check thrust”
PM: “Thrust set”
(Announce FMAs)
PF: “MAN FLX, SRS, RWY” - 100 KIAS
PM: “100 knots” - V1
PM: “V1” (approx 5 kt prior) - VR
PM: “Rotate”
*Positive rate of climb
PF or PM: “Positive rate”
PF: “Gear up”
Climb & Descent
- Transition altitude
PM & PF: “Standard” (STD) - Transition level
PM & PF: “____ In/hPa” - 1000’ above/below assigned altitude
PM: Designate approaching altitude appropriately (e.g., “Six thousand for seven thousand”, “six for seven”)
Approach
- 2500’ RA
Auto: “2500”
PF & PM: “____ In/hPa” - At glidepath capture
PF: “Set missed approach altitude” - 1000’ RA
PM: “1000”
PF: “Cleared to land” -or- “No landing clearance” (if not yet rec’d) - 500’ RA (Non-autoland)
Auto/PM: “500” (1)
PF: “Stable” -or- “Unstable, going around” - 500’ RA (Autoland)
PM: “500”
C: “CAT 3 DUAL, stable”, “CAT 3 SINGLE, stable”, -or- “Unstable, going around” - 100’ prior to minimums
PM: “Approaching minimums” (1) - At minimums
PM: “Minimums”
PF: “Landing” (2,3) -or- “Going around”
(1) Some A/C automatically call out “500” feet on non-ILS approaches
(2) When the PF calls that the runway is in sight, this implies the PF intends to continue visually to the landing runway. Once the PF calls the runway in sight, the PM is not required to make the “Approaching minimums” and “Minimums” callouts. If “Minimums” callout is made, the PF must call out “Landing” or “Going around”
(3) For autoland approaches, “Landing” call implies FMA CAT 3 DUAL or CAT 3 SINGLE displayed, as appropriate. For approaches flown to a DA or DH, the required visual references also exist. Approaches utilizing an AH do not require outside visual references.
Landing
RA
Auto: “50, 40, 30, 20, 10”
Landing Roll
80 knots
PM: “80 knots”
Missed Approach
Decision to go around
PF: “Going around, flaps ____, check thrust”
PF or PM: “Positive rate”
PF: “Gear up”
PF: “Set missed approach altitude”
