1
Q

Rejected T/O

Abnormality prior to V1

A

I will / you will drill

No auto-brakes if T/O didn’t reach 72kts (dir control will be challenging in strong x-wind!)
Hot brakes likely
Stop on runway if there is any chance of requiring an evac

A

If RA “Climb” or “Increase Climb” on final approach after FAF or <1000’ AGL - GA FLAPS!

ND Scale … down
FDs … Off
Ext Lights … ON
LOOK OUT!

Do not maneuver on TA alone.
IF RA … PF fly, PM “TCAS RA” to ATC
Manoeuvre within 5 secs (2.5 sec for reversal)
When clear …advise ATC … “clear of conflict” …. or “unable, TCAS RA”

GPWS, WINDSHEAR or STALL RECOVERY will always take precedence.

A

FINS 241-242, 461-464, 473

*“WINDSHEAR AHEAD” or “GA WINDSHEAR”
May be disregarded if positive verification of no haz.
*“WINDSHEAR” always react

W/S AHEAD RED on PFD
“WINDSHEAR AHEAD, WINDSHEAR AHEAD”
*delay T/O, or select most fav rwy
*inhibited 100 until 50’
*airborne “FIREWALL” (slat/flap can be changed if not into w/s), AP (if on) keep on, follow SRS.
*landing - “FIREWALL” … TOGA preform G/A

W/S AHEAD AMBER on PFD
Apply precautionary measures (use TOGA for T/O)
LDG - Flap 3, managed speed, AP, radar, observations etc

Remember “WINDSHEAR” - ALWAYS react!

Cautions: PULL UP, TERRAIN TERRAIN PULL UP, TERRAIN AHEAD PULL UP, OBSTACLE AHEAD PULL UP

Warnings: TERRAIN TERRAIN, TOO LOW TERRAIN, CAUTION TERRAIN, TERRAIN AHEAD, OBSTACLE AHEAD

If day VFR and no hazard exists - warning may be considered cautionary, otherwise:

PF
"Firewall" - TOGA
AP - off
Pitch up - FULL
Speed Brake Lever - check retracted
Bank - wings level or adjust
If alt/dct law respect stall
If OEI be gentle as Vmca may be > Vamax
When Clear
"GA FLAPS"

PM
Ensure SPD-BRK retracted and spoilers disarmed.
Callout flt path

SINK RATE, GLIDESLOPE
>1000 AGL - Flight Plath adjust
<1000 AGL - GA Flaps

TOO LOW GEAR, TOO LOW FLAPS

Stall Recovery

A

Shouldn’t happen in normal law.
Alt or Dct law. “Stall, Stall, Stall” and/or Buffet

PF
"STALL"
Apply nose down
Roll wings level
When 'broke' increase thrust smoothly
SPD-BRK Retract
Smoothly recover
If clean and <20,000' "Flaps 1"
When clear "GA FLAPS"

PM
Monitor or call out deviations

Q

Emergency During Pushback

A

Gnd crew - “EMERGENCY EMERGENCY SET BRAKES SET BRAKES” (HS - Abruptly extends arms and wands to top of head, crossing wands)

Flt crew - “EMERGENCY EMERGENCY STOP PUSHBACK STOP PUSHBACK” (HS - Cross both arms in front of face then clench fists)

17
Q

PRM Breakout

A

=Both pilots trained (sim and video), read “attention all users”.
=Capt hand flown for initial “breakout”.
=When contacting tower - listen to monitor FREQ and preset heading 30 left or 30 right (left or right parallel rwy)

  • Capt - AP off - hand fly
  • FO - set hdg and pull
  • FO - set alt and pull
  • Capt - thrust levers as req (if TOGA reselect hdg)
  • AP on
  • In climb or level - Sel speed green dot and pull
  • “GA FLAPS”
18
Q

ADR 1+2+3

A

Use QRH

ECAM may show two dual ARD failures … do paper checklist.

19
Q

SMOKE/FUMES/AVNCS SMOKE

A

The QRH procedure includes all the steps from AVNCS SMOKE ECAM (may also see on overhead panel: GEN 1 LINE “smoke” and BLOWER “fault”, EXTRACT “Fault”)

LAND ASAP always first thought

QRH checklist always applied before AVNCS SMOKE ECAM

Understand how the different types of smoke could manifest … common actions (1st 7 steps in QRH)

Other ECAM Smoke (cargo, lav):
Do ECAM first, if doubt about origin consider QRH precudure

AOM 1.02.10

20
Q

amber LAND ASAP amber

ECAM

A
  • consider landing at the nearest suitable airport.

The suitability criteria should be defined in accordance with the operator’s policy.

21
Q

red LAND ASAP red

ECAM

A
  • land ASAP at the nearest airport at which a safe landing can be made.

Is applicable to a time critical situation.

22
Q

Reject > 100 kts

A

Very few situ should lead to reject:
(T/O inhibit 80kts-1500’ or 2 mins)
= FIRE wrng or severe damage
= Sudden loss of thrust
= Situ or cond where a/c is not safe to fly
= ANY RED ECAM
= Amber ECAM - F/CTL SIDESTICK FAULT
- ENG 1(2) FAIL
- ENG 1(2) REVERSER FAULT
- ENG 1(2) REVERSER UNLOCKED

23
Q

G/S from above

A

Only when established on LOC
at least CONFIG 2, L/G down, SLOW DOWN!

APP mode … ARM/Check Armed
FCU ALT … Set above (MA ALT if below it)
(Speed Push?!)
V/S Mode … Select 1500’ down initially more is OK (watch VFE)

If interception prior to 1000’ set MA Alt
If no interception prior to 1000’ set MA Alt - GA FLAPS!

AOM 1.04.11.20

24
Q

ECAM Warning Logic

A

Primary Failure - System failure that costs the use of other items or systems. Left side title boxed.
Secondary Failure - result of primary failure. Right side with *asterisk.
Independent Failure - Isolated system failure. Left side underlined.

Level 3 - RED - Immediate action
Level 2 - AMBER with chime - awareness not immediate action
Level 1 - AMBER no chime - requires crew monitoring.

Class I - upper ECAM
Class II - lower right side.
Class III - read by maint in the CFDIU

25
Approximate Glide Ratio - 280kts at 60KG
2.5nm per 1000' (zero wind)
26
Engine Failure on approach
GA if unstabilized at any time. otherwise MCT on operative engine (unless fire with no failure) Outside FAF - do initial ECAM down to 1000', then remainder after landing or after GA (>400') Inside FAF - do ECAM after landing or after GA (>400')
