STABILISATION CRITERIA

A

By 1000 ft HAA

  1. Established on the correct lateral and vertical flight path, with only small changes to required bank
    angle and pitch needed to maintain the path;
  2. Configured with the planned landing flap extended and gear down;
  3. Sink rate not greater than 1000 fpm;
    4.Thrust setting appropriate to achieve and/or maintain the approach speed;
  4. All briefings completed.

In addition, by 500 ft HAA:

  1. Airspeed not more than speed target +10 kt and not less than speed target –5 kt;
  2. Landing Checklist completed.

DEVIATIONS

A

On approach the PM will make callouts for the following conditions during final approach.
◼ SPEED” speed target + 10 kt ; VAPP - 5 knots
◼ “SINK RATE” V/S 1000 ft / min
◼ “BANK” 7º (in Flare call “Bank, Bank”)
◼ “PITCH” 2.5º nose down ; 10º nose up (in Flare call “Pitch, Pitch”)
◼ “LOC” 1/2 dot LOC
◼ “GLIDE” 1/2 dot GS

ENG 1/2 Failure after V1 calls

A

If an engine failure occurs after V1, delay the call
“ENG 1(2) FAIL”
until after landing gear is selected up.

At VR rotate towards the target pitch attitude. At VR, call “ROTATE”

“POSITIVE CLIMB”

PF “GEAR UP”

PM “GEAR UP”
Select the landing gear lever up and read the ECAM title
displayed on the top line of the E/WD.
“ENG 1(2) FAIL”
