a whole qna Flashcards
What were the relevant findings that answer the research problem?
The relevant findings of the research indicate that young women prefer bamboo sanitary pads due to their perceived advantages such as being less irritating, more absorbent, leak-proof, comfortable, and hypoallergenic. Additionally, the study highlights the potential health risks associated with traditional pads, including the use of chemicals like phthalates, which can impact reproductive health and contribute to conditions like asthma and cancer, as well as their environmental impact through the generation of plastic waste.
What are you recommendations in addressing the cited problem in the study?
To address the issues associated with traditional sanitary pads, I recommend promoting the use of safer alternatives like bamboo pads and raising awareness about their benefits among young women. Implementing policies to encourage the adoption of biodegradable menstrual products can also mitigate the environmental impact of plastic waste generated by traditional pads.
Another idea that the cited problem of menstrual poverty could be addressed is through further advocating and promoting this study, in the hopes of our voices being heard to the point that the higher ups, or anyone who have the authority to start acting upon the proposed alterative, so that eventually and gradually, it would be normalized
Cite at least three benefits that the stakeholders can get from the results of your study?
-The study’s results offer significant benefits to stakeholders. Ateneo de Davao University Senior High School female learners and staff gain access to more comfortable and eco-friendly menstrual care options, while women with heavy flows find relief in bamboo pads’ superior absorbency. Additionally, parents and daughters benefit economically from reusable pads, while future researchers can use the study as a foundation for advancing menstrual health solutions.
If you were to reconduct the said study what approach and angle would you want to look into account?
-If reconducting the study, it could be beneficial to conduct a comparative analysis between demographic groups or geographical regions could reveal variations in preferences and challenges related to adopting bamboo sanitary pads, enhancing our understanding and informing targeted interventions for sustainable menstrual hygiene practices.
How is the theory manifested in the results and findings that you have?
-In our study, Social Cognitive Theory is evident in the way individual experiences, social influences, and environmental factors shape young women’s perceptions and choices regarding bamboo sanitary pads. For instance, respondents’ positive experiences with bamboo pads, coupled with social influences from peers or family members, influenced their decision to adopt them. Additionally, perceived barriers such as concerns about comfort or absorbency were factors that influenced their choices, aligning with Bandura’s emphasis on personal factors and perceived hindrances in decision-making related to health behaviors.
What were the problematic findings that are seen in your findings and results?
Looking through the data gathered by the group, it could be noticed that some students are unaware of the existence of bamboo sanitary pads, which is understandable and normal, but at the same time something a bit problematic since it also means that these people are most likely unaware of the health risks posed by the traditional napkins. However, despite such a problematic finding, one could identify a silver lining to this, and that is the purpose is research to spread awareness has been fulfilled.
Were your group able to bridge the gap? Explain So.
One of the identified research gaps is the lack of awareness of some young women regarding the existence of bamboo sanitary pads, which the group was able to bridge, Through our data gathering process, when we were given the chance to explain our research, in the process for asking consent, we were able to explain the objectives of the research and let them aware regarding the existence of bamboo sanitary pads.
How can your study be an instrument in addressing the cited problem?
Our study could be an instrument in addressing menstrual poverty through spreading awareness regarding the existence of bamboo sanitary pads by publicizing the findings of our study, in hopes of normalizing this alternative, and making an appeal to the authority and institutions to start developing a product that would prioritize the wellbeing of women, as well as the environmental conditions of our country. Future researchers could also opt to continue, develop, and look at this current reality from a fresher perspective that would make the study more organized.
