It means going round. ABACABA

What is theme and variation?
Original theme with contrasts for each new section
What is a ground bass?
A repeated bass line four to eight bars long. Played throughout the piece.
What is a Canon?
Similar to a round. A melody comes in and parts come in.
What is the sonata form (playing it)
A solo instrument with a piano Accompaniment.
What is sonata form (symphony)
Exposition- two contrasting themes are heard and it ends in a different but related key
Development- themes are taken through a lot of variations
Recapitulation- themes from Exposition are repeated with a slight change.
What is a concerto?
A piece for a solo instrument and orchestra. Usually in three movements.
What is a cadenza?
An improvised unaccompanied solo in a concerto.
What is a minuet and trio?
A dance in 3/4 usually by a string quartet. ABA
What is a scherzo and trio?
A livelier version of a minuet and trio.
