CPUs

A

High speed calculator that basically writes programs that the processor can do stuff with such as manipulate peripherals and create files to get stuff done.

17
Q

Process of starting a program and how it functions with CPU, storage, and peripheries

A
  • A CPU will talk to the SSD/Hard drive where the program such as Word lives in.
  • The SSD will take the app and load it into RAM
  • When the program is running, it’s stored in RAM
  • RAM can only be used when a program is running
  • Program itself is monitoring the peripherals such as the mouse and keyboard to monitor for key strokes.
  • Once file is saved, it’s stored in the RAM and SSD.
