What is organisational culture
Organisation/company has different ‘ways of doing things’
what is the advantage of group responsibility
- each member of the group must feel collectively responsible for the work produced and ensure that the whole ‘product’ is safe (e.g. cross checking work)
what is the disadvantage of group responsibility
- can act against safety if no one feels personally responsible (referred as diffusion of responsibility)
what is group polarisation
when groups make decisions that are more extreme than the individual members initial positions
what is intergroup conflict
when small group acts cohesively as a team, but rivalries arise between the team and others
explain social loafing
tendency for individuals to work less hard on a task when they believe others are working on it
How is a person considered motivated
If they are taking action to achieve something

what is self-actualisation
persons motivation to reach their full potential

actual or perceived pressure a person can feel to conform to what they believe their peers expect

Humans are driven by 2 different set of motivational forces according to Maslow which are
- Basic needs (physiological and safety factors)
- Self-actualisation needs (love, esteem, and self-actualisation factors)
What is meant by diffusion of responsibility
No one feels personally responsible for safety
