Geographic Position Markings (Low Visibility Hold Points)
Pink circles with black
outlines and black inscriptions painted on the taxiway surfaces and identified on the Low
Visibility Taxi Route charts as circled numbers and/or letters.
Stop Bars
An illuminated in-pavement row of red lights across the taxiway at the
intersection to an active runway. They are used to control entrance to an active runway.
When illuminated, the green taxiway centerline lights will be extinguished. When the red
stop bar lights are extinguished by ATC, the green centerline lights will illuminate
normally. This is confirmation of a clearance to taxi onto the active runway.
Taxiway Holding Position Lights
- Alternating yellow lights located on each side of the
taxiway with taxiway hold signs. Sometimes referred to as “Wigwag lights”. Indicates a
taxiway holding position.
How do we determine approach minimums?
QRH and JEPP Chart which ever is Higher
Can we can land with weather below published minimums?
CAT I and CAT II Yes / CAT III No
Can we continue the approach if the weather drops below landing minimums established on the final approach segment?
Yes
Can we continue the approach if the weather drops below landing minimums prior the FAF?
No

AUTOLAND – Enabled – AP / YD - Engaged – RA MINS – Both Set to 50RA for CATIII – RA MINS – Both Set to charted DH minimums for CATII – LOC 1 LFT PFD / LOC 2 RGT PFD – Both NAVs Tuned to same Frequency – Both CDI Set to correct inbound CRS – No “Miss-Compares” on PFD
