9 - More on analysis of ABMs Flashcards
1
Q
What is the goal ABM data?
A
- Empirically demonstrate that a given pattern reliably occurs under certain conditions
- That specific factors (encoded as parameters) result in distinct outputs
- Can explain why this happens
2
Q
How long should you run the model (number of ticks)?
A
- a predetermined duration
- point of equilibrium (moment in the simulation when the model stabilizes and nothing “new” happens)
3
Q
What is sensitivity analysis?
A
Tests the model to see how much a model’s output will be affected by incremental changes to various plausible values
4
Q
What is uncertainty analysis
A
Tests, whether different values that you do not know are true or false, will have any impact
5
Q
What are the main components of ABM analysis?
A
- Experimental design
- Length of simulation
- Number of runs
- Sensitivity analysis
- Statistical tests
- Open science
