Q

How does MF affect microorganisms?

A
  • MF acts to activate certain cells components or modify its structure or functionality.
  • Low freq MF inhibits growth and reproduction of cells
  • Low freq, high intensity PMF destroy microbial cell membranes and organelles.
  • SMF generates bactericidal free radicals. and modify ethanol-glucose conversion mechanisms, which increases ethanol production.
  • OMF changes enzyme activity and limit cell growth
  • PMF changes the expression and stability of intracellular protein.
