Explain why Mowgli had to leave the jungle.
The wolves of Mowgli’s pack had always been aware that Mowgli was different; for example he was able to remove thorns from their feet and they were unable to look him in the eyes. There Khan, the large man-eating tiger, stirred up trouble among the wolves by asking why they were content to let a man be part of the pack. At the final meeting at Council rock, many of the wolves would have been happy to let Shere Khan have Mowgli, but the boy was able to take control of the situation because he had the Red Flower (fire). Although he still had friends–such as Bagheera, Baloo, Akela, and a few other wolves–Mowgli knew that things would never be the same and that the jungle was shut to him. Therefore, he left to return to his own kind.
