Biological diversity

Biosphere
The portion of the planet which all life exists
Species
A group of organisms so similar to one another that they can bread and produce fertile offspring
Population
A group of individuals that belong to the species and live in the same area
Community
Two or more populations that live in a defined area
Ecosystem
A collection of all organisms that live in a particular place, together with their non-living environment
Biome
A group of ecosystems that have the same climate and dominant organisms
Autotrophs
An organism that can make its own food (producer)
Heterotrophs
An organism that has to eat in order to survive (consumer)
