- Appropriately requested and issued to TFD personnel

In the case of unauthorized use, the Shift Supervisor shall do what?
contact the Radio Service Center immediately to disable the lost portable radio.
On the business day an e-mail report of a lost or broken portable radio is received, a Radio Service Center technician will bring to the FCC replacement radios for the spares issued. What will they do with them?
a. The spare radio issued will be reprogrammed by the Radio Service Center to match the identifier of the unit and position or the radio brought in for repair
b. Lost radios shall be reprogrammed with the word “lost” added to the radio ID display that appears at FCC
The Fire Communications Supervisor shall do what upon learning of a lost radio?
a. Contact the Radio Service Center to disable the lost portable radio after 48 hours have elapsed

6.0 PROCEDURE FOR REPAIRING BROKEN PORTABLE RADIOS 6.1 TFD Company Officer
- Contact FCC and report the broken portable radio 2. Obtain clearance to go to FCC for replacement portable radio.
6.0 PROCEDURE FOR REPAIRING BROKEN PORTABLE RADIOS
Shift Supervisor
- Place the antenna of the broken radio on the assigned replacement radio.
- Re-label the body of the replacement radio to reflect the new portable radio assignment.
- Enter the details of the transaction into the radio log book (see example below).
- Place a Work Order Request, detailing the problem, on the broken radio.
- Place the broken radio in the position vacated by the issued spare portable radio in the portable radio rack.
- E-mail the Radio Service Center with the details of the transaction to include:
a. I.D. of the radio being replaced
b. Name and position of the person receiving the spare radio c. I.D. of the spare radio issued d. The reason the radio was issued - Send a copy of the e-mail to the FCC supervisor.
- Record on the FCC dry erase board which spare was issued to what position assignment and the date of the issue.
- Log the replacement radio brought in by the Radio Service Technician on the same line as the spare radio it replaced.
7.0 PROCEDURE FOR REPLACING LOST PORTABLE RADIOS 7.1 TFD Company Officer
- Contact FCC and report the lost portable radio
- Obtain clearance to go to FCC for replacement portable radio.
- Before going off shift, prepare an e-mail detailing:
a. The last known location of the radio
b. Circumstances surrounding the loss
c. Actions taken to recover the radio. d. Actions taken to secure a replacement radio - Send the e-mail to the FCC supervisor with copies to:
a. FCC Manager
b. The affected Battalion Chief
c. The Company Captain. - Fill out and forward the City of Tacoma Loss to Assets report to the FCC Supervisor.
PROCEDURE FOR REPLACING LOST PORTABLE RADIOS
Shift Supervisor
- Replace the three labels on the replacement radio to reflect the new portable radio assignment.
- Enter the details of the transaction into the radio log book (see example below).
- Place a Work Order Request reporting the lost radio in the position vacated by the issued spare portable radio.
- E-mail the Radio Service Center with the details of the transaction to include:
a. I.D. of the radio being replaced
b. Name and position of the person receiving the spare radio
c. I.D. of the spare radio issued
d. The reason the radio was issued - Send a copy of the e-mail to the FCC supervisor.
- Record on the FCC dry erase board which spare was issued to what position assignment and the date of the issue.
- Log the replacement radio brought in by the Radio Service Technician on the same line as the spare radio it replaced.

8. 1 Event Coordinator
- Contact the FCC Shift Supervisor 24 hours in advance to request event radios.
- Check out all radios and associated equipment through the FCC Shift Supervisor.
- Return all event radios and associated equipment to the FCC Shift Supervisor at the conclusion of the event.
PROCEDURE FOR ISSUING EVENT RADIOS
8.2 Shift Supervisor
- Prepare requested event radios and associated equipment for pick up by the Event Coordinator.
- Enter the details of the transaction into the radio log book (see example below).
a. Who the radios were issued to
b. The name of the event
c. The number and identification of all radios issued
d. The date and time the radios are returned
e. Name of the dispatcher recording the transaction - Make the appropriate entries into the log book when the radios are returned to the FCC.

- 1 Shift Supervisor
- Take possession of found radio.
- Record the details of the transaction on a Work Order Request 3. Record the details of the transaction in both the radio log book and the FCC journal
- E-mail the Radio Service Center at the time the radio is turned in to the FCC with information about the found radio
- Make a notation in the radio logbook at the time the radio is turned over to the Radio Service Center

9.2 Radio Service Center Technician
- Take possession of the found radio.
2. Return it to the inventory at the Radio Service Center.

- Contact FCC and report the broken mobile radio

10.2 Shift Supervisor
- Upon receipt of a request from field, contact Fire Garage Supervisor to coordinate repair or replacement.
- If after hours, contact the reporting party regarding what action should be taken until a repair or replacement can occur.
- Enter the nature of the problem and details of the transaction in the FCC journal.
