A
Superficial, partial thickness, full thickness
call 911 if burns cover a large area, are full thickness, affect breathing, are from chemicals or electricity

A
- rinse cool water 10 mins
- cover with loose/dry dressing
NOT full thickness

Chemical burn treatment
A
- remove clothes with chemical or brush off chemical powder
- rinse with cool water 15 mins

- turn off current
- look for entry and exit burns
- treat

A
- ice pack wrapped in towel 20 mins
- off 20 mins
- repeat

- pull out and treat as a cut

- sit forward 10-15 mins and pinch nostrils

- bite on dressing
- pick up tooth by exposed crown
- put in milk, spit, egg whites, coconut water
- go to dentist

= flush eye
chemicals
= flush eye away from other eye

= cover with cool, damp cloth
= get medical help

- secure with gauze/bandages

- shallow breathing
- deformity
- bruising
- coughing up blood
impaled:
- sucking noise
- gasping
- bleeding from open wound
