-Hot gases and ash moving downslope
Very fast
Average 100 – 300 km/h, 62 – 186 mph
Can be as fast as 700 km/h, or 450 mph
-Very hot
Up to 1000 degrees C, or almost 2000 degrees F
so hot they fuse together when they land
Death by suffocation: (ash makes cement with fluid in their lungs) or shock
